Title: The Final Call (Part 2): Why Your Lunch is a Prophetic Act

Scripture Focus: “Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him...” (Revelation 14:7)

When we hear the First Angel’s command to "Give Glory" to God, our minds usually drift to church services, loud singing, or lifted hands. We think of glory as something abstract and spiritual.

But a deeper study of this message reveals something far more tangible: Glory is physical.
In the context of the final days, the command to "Give Glory" is a call to align our physical habits—what we eat, drink, wear, and watch—with our spiritual profession.

Redefining "Fear" and "Glory"
To understand the urgency, we have to define terms:

1. "Fear God": This is not terror. In the biblical sense, it means absolute loyalty. It is a state of mind where God’s will is supreme over ourown desires.
2. "Give Glory": The Apostle Paul interprets this phrase clearly: "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

The First Angel is essentially saying: Stop living for your appetites and start living for the Kingdom.

The Connection: Why the "Third" Angel?
Here is where the theology gets deep. If you search the Spirit of Prophecy, you will find this famous statement: "Health reform is as closely connected with the third angel's message as the hand is with the body" (Counsels on Diet and Foods).

You might ask: "Wait, aren't we studying the First Angel?"

Yes, but we must understand that the Three Angels' Messages build on each other. They do not fly separately; they fly in a line.

• The First Angel gives the command: "Give Glory" (Purify the body temple).
• The Third Angel gives the warning: "Do not receive the Mark of the Beast."

The Spirit of Prophecy provides the insight that you cannot successfully heed the warning of the Third Angel (resisting the Beast) if you haven't obeyed the command of the First Angel (clearing the mind). The messages are inseparable.

 The "Right Arm" (health) protects and supports the "Body" (the truth).
The Cause & Effect of Holiness
The Spirit of Prophecy does not teach health reform merely so we can live longer. It is taught as a spiritual necessity for survival in the end times.

Here is the cause-and-effect logic:

• The Cause: We practice temperance in diet and lifestyle (giving glory).
• The Effect: Our physical brain tissue remains healthy and unclouded.
• The Result: A clear mind can discern the "still small voice" of the Holy Spirit, allowing us to stand firm when the Third Angel's warning is tested.

The Bottom Line
Holiness is not just about what you believe; it's about how you live. The First Angel challenges us to realize that every bite of food and every minute of our time is an opportunity to vote: are we glorifying self, or are we glorifying the Creator?
