In A Stable Long Ago

In a stable long ago 

 Was a manger filled with hay

Where Christ the Lord was born we’re told 

 That blessed Christmas day

The shepherds came and worshiped Him 

 In reverence they bowed

From their fields to Bethlehem

 The holy Child was found

In the stable cattle lowing

 When the Child was born

To a world little knowing

 The Savior’s birth that morn

The shepherds came and worshiped Him

 The holy Child was found

Let’s remember why He came

 Why He came to earth

To take our guild and our shame

 Was the reason for His birth

Someday He’ll come to earth again

 In victory we’ll sing

We’ll shout aloud and say “Amen”

 When we see the King
