2025 Reflection: A New Beginning
"He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!' Then he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'" — Revelation 21:5

The Master’s New Design
Is the weight of 2025’s mistakes making you hesitant to start fresh tomorrow? We often carry the baggage of the past year like a heavy coat, afraid that the "new" year will just be more of the same. But the logic of the Gospel is not about simple renovation; it is about a total transformation. When we look at the promise that the One on the throne is making all things new, we see the blueprint for our own lives.
The consistency of God is seen in His role as the Restorer. Just as He spoke light into the darkness at the beginning of time, He speaks hope into the shadowed corners of our hearts today. This isn't a random act; it is the natural expression of a God who loves to bring life out of dead places. As the calendar turns, we aren't just crossing a chronological line; we are leaning into the reality that the Creator is still actively shaping His masterpiece.
The pain of the "old"—the habits, the heartaches, and the hurts of 2025—can feel like they define us. We worry that a change in the date won't lead to a change in our soul. This friction exists because we are caught between what we were and what we are becoming. The logic of faith tells us that these growing pains are not signs of failure, but signs that the old structure is being cleared away to make room for something eternal.
The logic of this transformation is rooted entirely in Jesus’s service and sacrifice. By taking on our "old" nature and the weight of our failures, He cleared the debt that kept us stuck in the past. His work on the cross was the decisive action that made "all things new" a legal reality for us. Because He finished His work, our new beginning is not a hope—it is a guarantee. His service provides the bridge from the person we were to the person He is calling us to be.
As you prepare for the first day of 2026, remember the words of Corrie ten Boom: "Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." You don't have to fix yourself for the new year; you only have to submit to the One who is already making all things new. Rest in the knowledge that the Master Builder has a plan for the next twelve months that is consistent with His perfect and unchanging love.
