Cuba Harvest Evangelism
From October 19 to November 4, 2025 we will be sharing the Three Angels' Messages with the precious people of Cuba.
Meetings for all
THE GOAL
The purpose of Harvest Evangelism Mission Projects are to assist WYG’s Medical Missionary Bible Workers (MMBW’s) working in unreached cities on the frontlines of Cuba to conduct short-term harvest evangelistic campaigns. Specifically it is to help call men, women and children they have been reaching out to, to receive the gift of Salvation in Jesus Christ and to teach Bible principles preparing them to meet their soon coming Savior. Volunteer teams will stay in the (humble) house churches living and working beside our MMBW’s for these two weeks. Volunteer mission participants will expect to work hard conducting evangelistic campaigns including visiting, preaching and holding a children’s evangelistic VBS program. Together with a translator and our workers you will seek to visit every interest and attendee of the campaign in their homes. This will not only be an immersion in the life and culture of the Cuban people, but you will also experience the mighty power of God as you share His Word and bear witness to the work of the Holy Spirit upon the hearts of all who hear. Harvest Evangelism is the exciting fourth pillar and pinnacle of WYG’s efforts to enlarge the Kingdom of God in Cuba. The following overview provides a brief glimpse of where these campaigns fit in:
1. Training – 1 month LIGHT Schools prepare Cuban young people to go out as MMBW’s to minister to the broken, relieve suffering and share their faith in Jesus Christ and His Word
2. Sending – LIGHT School graduates willing to commit to fulltime mission service are interviewed and supported to go into Cuba’s unreached cities to live and minister among those in darkness
3. Establishing – Since Cuba does not allow new church temples, common Cuban houses are purchased in these cities to nurture new flocks until they grow into fully established SDA churches
4. Harvesting – Volunteers and MMBW’s combine forces to conduct 2 week harvest evangelistic campaigns preaching the crucified and risen Christ and inviting all to stand for Him.
OVERVIEW
Individuals desiring to join a mission evangelism project in Cuba are asked to return; a completed application, a copy of their passport and the deposit by the stated deadline. Once approved, WYG will request religious visas for each participant from the Cuban government. Mentone will book our flights as a group. Participants will normally lodge the first night in WYG facilities, followed by a general orientation on Monday and travel to the site of the harvest campaigns. A harvest series is an opportunity to help reap the fruit of the relationships the MMBWs have established, seeking to gain decisions and commitments to follow Christ and His Word in a town where this is largely or entirely unprecedented. Large groups will need to be subdivided into smaller evangelistic units of 3-7 individuals. Each small unit will be responsible, with the help of our MMBW’s, to conduct adult and children campaigns in each town. Evangelistic units will hold simultaneous campaigns in selected towns in the same general region where we have planted MMBW’s. Through God’s amazing grace we pray efforts will culminate in a beautiful baptismal ceremony on the second and final Sabbath. The last Sunday will be a day where all volunteer units can join together (coast/mountains) to share stories and refresh before returning to
the USA the 2nd Monday.
ADULT / CHILDREN CAMPAIGNS
Both adult and children (VBS) campaigns will cover the same subjects night by night. The meetings are scheduled to begin on the first Tuesday night and end on the second Sabbath. This will allow 13 messages designed to teach the Biblical basis for the doctrines of Jesus we hold precious as Seventh-day Adventists,
and to inspire individuals to make a stand for Christ and His truths. An important part of the evangelistic messages will be making appeals to accept God’s wonderful gift of eternal life. Participants will receive further detail about evangelism and VBS source material. During the day each team will begin with a devotional and planning meeting. A major part of the day will be inviting people to the meetings and visiting interests. The evening program will consist of greeting, singing, sharing a 5-10 minute health nugget, adult and children messages, VBS crafts and finally getting better acquainted with those who linger after the meetings. Pending permission from local government officials, WYG coordinators will attempt to hold Health Expo’s the week before we arrive as this would provide another avenue of blessing and invitation. Each preacher and VBS leader should plan to bring a laptop and if possible a projector to project slides and scriptures that go with the messages. It would be tremendous if used equipment could be brought with the idea of donating it to one of the many church plants that lack any equipment.
Do you sense God is calling you to the frontlines of gospel ministry to share your talents and faith in a Cuban city where many will have never before heard or understood the good news of salvation? The God who calls is the One who gives grace that we may preach the unsearchable riches of Christ, inviting others to join the family of God.
