Operation Andrew
Our prophecy seminar is coming soon and it is time to begin Operation Andrew!
Operation Andrew, taken from John 1:41-42, is a friendship-oriented method in helping those we know come to experience a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Andrew . . . first found his own brother, Simon . . . and brought him to Jesus.” John 1:41-42
To participate in Operation Andrew:
Look Around . . . because your mission field is where you live, work, and play. As names of people who need Jesus Christ and His Hope come to mind, write them on your prayer list. Start with two or three individuals; God will bring more to your mind.
Look Up . . . for prayer changes people. Set aside time to pray daily for these people and yourself, that God will give you natural opportunities to share His love with them.
Look Out . . . for ways to cultivate stronger relationships, earn confidence, and share information through literature or conversation.
Look Forward . . . pray that those on your list will be receptive to an invitation to attend an outreach event.
Look After . . . those needing further grounding.
“Personal effort for others should be preceded by much secret prayer; for it requires great wisdom to understand the science of saving souls. Before communicating with men, commune with Christ.” Christ Object Lessons, p. 149
Here is a specific plan for inviting people to the series:
Invite #1 – This week and next, January 30 to February 8. Tell them the date for opening night and promise them a Brochure. (You may also share with them the graphic for the series)
Invite #2 -About 1 week before opening night, February 9 to 12: Personally deliver a full brochure and have them pre-register (the website will be up soon).
Invite #3 – 1-2 days before opening night, February 15 & 16: Call all of your interest/friends and remind them of opening night.
Invite #4 – After opening night: Visit your friend that did not come. Bring them a study guide, CD (optional), and a list of upcoming nights.
Never Give Up, and continue to PRAY! Follow up – Keep the interest on the mailing list for upcoming events: i.e., another seminar at a future date, musical concerts, health seminars, family seminars, etc...
Research indicates that about 80% of new church member’s come because of a personal invitation. It takes on average 4-5 invitations to get someone to attend an evangelistic meeting. Never think that just because you invite them once, they will automatically come out. It takes several reminders before it sticks with people.
